Butler’s Choice invited to speak at DI-conference
We are proud to be invited to share our CSR-experiences at the conference ”Danish Pioneers for Sustainability” on 7th November. The conference focuses at Danish companies’ work with responsibility and sustainability within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s). Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) and Virksomhedsforum for Socialt Ansvar (VFSA) are organizing the conference and it will be held in the in the House of Industry in Copenhagen.
At the conference we will speak about Butler’s Choice’s and Choice Foundation’s work with ensuring girls’ and women’s rights in the poor fishing communities in Vietnam. Since 2000, Butler’s Choice has had its own office in Southern Vietnam, from where we buy warm water prawns. We established Choice Foundation in 2011 to contribute even more to better education and access to health services in the local fishing communities.
The companies’ speeches on their efforts to ensure women’s rights follow Confederation of Danish Industries’ photo exhibition ‘Women Empower Business’. Butler’s Choice / Choice Foundation are among the eight selected companies participating in the exhibition. Read more about ‘Women Empower Business’ and HRH Crown Princess Mary’s opening of the photo exhibition at Women Deliver in May here (in Danish only).
At the conference VFSA will announce the winners of the CSR People Prize 2016, and HRH Prince Joakim will award the prize.
